These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Ascendria Academy’s tutoring services, resources, programmes, and website. By making a payment or submitting an enquiry, you agree to these terms. Please read them before booking.
1.About Ascendria Academy
Ascendria Academy (ABN: 14 483 143 709) is a tutoring and education services business operating in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It offers one-on-one tutoring, group programmes, digital study resources, and AI-powered study tools to students from Prep to Year 12.
All tutors operate as independent contractors under the Ascendria Academy brand and are not employees of Ascendria Academy.
2.Services offered
2.1 Standard tutoring
One-on-one tutoring sessions at the standard rate published on the website (currently $60/hr) for all IB Diploma and QCE subjects, Years 1–12, delivered in-person (Brisbane and QLD) or online. Ascendria Academy may adjust the published rate with 14 days written notice to active clients.
2.2 UCAT preparation
Specialist UCAT coaching at $120/hr with Dennis O'Callaghan, Edward Taylor, and Atharva Chatrapati (UQ Medicine students, UCAT 94th percentile and above). Covers all four current UCAT ANZ sections (Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, Situational Judgement).
2.3 Commitment packages (in development — not yet available)
Discounted per-session rates for semester (~10 sessions), half-year (~20 sessions), and full-year (~40 sessions) commitments are currently in development and not yet available for purchase. Final rates, terms, and the commitment agreement will be published on the website prior to launch. Any pricing displayed on the website while these packages are in development is illustrative only and does not constitute an offer.
2.4 Grade guarantee packages
Structured subject programmes with a conditional grade guarantee. See Section 6 for full guarantee terms.
2.5 Holiday programmes and bootcamps
Group intensive programmes delivered during Queensland school holiday periods. Programme details, schedule, and pricing are published on the website at the time of enrolment.
2.6 Study resources and digital products (in development — not yet available)
The digital and physical study resources advertised on the website are currently in development and not yet available for purchase. Final pricing, format, refund policy, and shipping terms will be published before sale. No payment will be processed for these products until they are released.
2.7 AI Study Assistant (beta — in development)
The Ascendria AI Study Assistant is currently in beta and under active development. Access plans, subscription terms, and pricing will be confirmed prior to general availability. Ascendria Academy makes no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content and recommends all AI responses be verified independently.
3.Booking and payment
- All bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of payment.
- Payment is processed via Stripe. Ascendria Academy does not store card details.
- Prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and inclusive of GST where applicable.
- Commitment packages are billed upfront or as a recurring weekly charge, depending on the arrangement agreed at time of booking.
- Ascendria Academy reserves the right to change pricing with 14 days written notice to active clients.
4.Cancellations and rescheduling
The cancellation policy applies to all tutoring sessions and forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
- More than 24 hours notice: free reschedule, no charge.
- Less than 24 hours notice: session charged in full.
- No-show: session charged in full.
All cancellations must be directed to the Ascendria Academy coordinator, not to the tutor directly. Ascendria Academy reserves the right to substitute tutors where a scheduled tutor is unavailable, with reasonable notice.
5.Tutor conduct and liability
All tutors operating under the Ascendria Academy brand hold a valid Queensland Working With Children (Blue Card). Ascendria Academy tutors are independent contractors and are not employees of the business.
Ascendria Academy takes reasonable care in vetting and training tutors. However, to the extent permitted by law, Ascendria Academy does not accept liability for:
- Any inaccuracy in tutor-provided academic content
- Any outcomes including academic results, university admissions, or assessment performance
- Loss, injury, or damage arising from in-person tutoring sessions conducted at third-party premises
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring appropriate supervision arrangements are in place for in-person sessions involving minors.
6.Grade guarantee
6.1 Trial and commitment model
Ascendria Academy offers a structured trial preview for all grade guarantee packages. The trial is priced at $20 and provides access to a sample of the structured resources and one introductory tutoring session.
6.2 What the guarantee covers
For clients who complete the full programme, the grade guarantee applies as follows: if the student does not achieve the guaranteed grade (as stated at the time of purchase), Ascendria Academy will provide free continuation sessions until the grade is achieved. No monetary refund is available at the full-programme stage. This is not a cash refund guarantee — it is a service continuation guarantee.
6.3 Commitment requirements
The guarantee applies only where the student has demonstrated commitment across all four areas:
- Attended at least 80% of scheduled sessions
- Completed all weekly deliverables and practice tasks
- Actively participated in sessions (as noted by the tutor)
- Completed the recommended independent study between sessions (approximately 1–2 hours per week)
6.4 Claiming the guarantee
Claims must be submitted in writing within 14 days of receiving the relevant assessment result, with evidence of the result included. Ascendria Academy will review the commitment log and respond within 5 business days.
7.Intellectual property
All study resources, course materials, website content, and AI-generated outputs produced by Ascendria Academy are the intellectual property of Ascendria Academy. They may not be copied, distributed, resold, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.
Students and parents may use purchased resources for personal study only.
8.Privacy
Ascendria Academy collects and handles personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Privacy Policy published at ascendriaacademy.com/privacy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in that policy.
9.Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights or guarantees you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that cannot be excluded by agreement. Where the ACL applies, Ascendria Academy’s liability is limited, to the extent permitted by law, to re-supplying the relevant service.
10.Disputes
Ascendria Academy prefers to resolve disputes informally and directly. If you have a concern, contact ascendriaacademy@gmail.com in the first instance. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes may be referred to the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) where eligible.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
11.Changes to these terms
Ascendria Academy reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated to active clients with at least 14 days notice. Continued use of our services after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The current version is always available at ascendriaacademy.com/terms.
